IMPRESSIVE RANGE OF FLOWERS
An autumn members’ visit to the Royal Horticultural Society gardens at Wisley took place on 26th October. The range of flowers that were still out did not fail to impress. I must also mention the autumn leaves and their wonderful colours.

PERFECT CONDITIONS TO VIEW THE GARDENS
A number of members made their own way to Wisley and were greeted by committee organisers gathered at the entrance. Once inside we were all able to head off to our own favourite areas. The light rain soon cleared and a calm, dry day followed. Perfect conditions to view the gardens and take photographs.

STILL SO MUCH TO SEE IN OCTOBER
I had never seen Wisley gardens so quiet before, and it allowed for uninterrupted views with no waiting anywhere throughout the huge expanse of exhibits. I was greeted by a flock of noisy parakeets whilst walking through the rose garden where some colourful blooms were still hanging on. The perennial borders didn’t disappoint either and the greenhouse was so quiet, even a little mouse poked its head out from amongst the cacti! Still so much to see, even in late October.

Thank you to Gillian Rose for organising, It was a lovely day to visit. I will look forward to future visits.

Editor’s note : Church Crookham and Fleet Garden Society membership gives access to free entrance tickets to RHS gardens. Our organisers do need time to arrange details. If you are interested (and maybe your guests) in future visits, kindly let us know as soon as events are announced here or on Facebook.
