Wisley Visit 2023

Wisley Visit 2023
This year’s trip to Wisley is booked for Tuesday 24th October. As usual, we will meet on the steps opposite the cafe outside the main entrance at 10:30am.
This trip is free for ccgsoc members. Cost of entry for non members is £16.50 for adults and £8.25 for children so it would be worth joining the society, which is currently only £1 for adult membership and free for children, should you know of anyone who would like to come who isn’t already a member. (This reduced cost membership only runs until the end of December.) People can join the society through visiting the trading shed which is open for business on 14th and 21st October.
As well as all the usual garden attractions, the new RHS orchid glass house is now open. For children there is a ‘spooky’ garden trail, a craft activity, seed planting and a ‘Wonky Apples’ fun filled show for children aged 3-9 year olds (tickets need to be booked via RHS website.)
There are several cafes on site and picnic tables around the garden if you wish to bring your own lunch.
Please contact Jan Parker at jan.parker@ntlworld.com or phone 01252 622491 to book a place if you wish to come. Wisley have an upper number limit of 55 people for associates group visits so, if needs be, places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Cut off date for numbers is Sunday 15th October as I need to let Wisley know numbers the following day.
Don’t forget, any member of ccgsoc who is not an RHS member but wishes to visit any RHS garden can borrow the garden society’s membership card and get 30% off entry to the garden.

Seeds for the Friends of Fleet Hospital
Phil Winterborne writes:
I am a member of the Friends of Fleet Hospital committee and we are hoping to sell flower seeds at the Christmas fair on 25th November. We would appreciate donations of seeds (in an envelope with the name of flower). It’s OK to just put seed pods in.
Phil can receive them on 21st October at the shed.
Much appreciated
Phil
Don’t forget!
